In response to the tremendous amount of technology involved in the planning and management of projects, Project Management Technologies, Inc. (PMT) has developed and refined an extensive suite of training courses exploring in depth these essential methodologies.

Drawing from our founder and principal's 35 years of practical experience in hardcore project management (aerospace, software development and implementation, prototypes, etc.), PMT has emerged as the training leader in the technologies of project management.

The many processes contained in these courses have been applied and proven in real project management environments. As such, they embody best practices and lessons learned in industry - not theory, not rhetoric - but practical, efficient methodology.

Anyone using project management tools (MS Project, Prima Vera, Open Plan, Artemis, or any of the other software tools of this genre) will find PMT's courses extremely beneficial. Through in-depth explanations and exercises, we explore step by step the many processes of project planning and program control.

In addition, we teach how to implement project management software tools to take full advantage of their capabilities. PMT's suite of courses contains over 100 total hours of training, which is an indication of the extent and complexity of these processes. All of our courses are registered through the Project Management Institute (PMI) as Category Three training, with PDUs awarded upon completion.

With a course suite of this magnitude, PMT saw a tremendous challenge in providing this training to people in an environment where time is their most precious commodity. Conventional classroom training is not the answer - project management professionals simply cannot take six or five or even four consecutive days out of their work schedule to dedicate to training! And even if they had the time, taking technical training on consecutive days is simply not effective - it is like taking a drink from a fire hose!

So we knew we had to develop a means to provide this training in a format and medium that could be taken in small drinks, which fits into the trainee's schedule - not ours. A four or five or six day course can be taken, but spread out over several weeks - or even months - if necessary. With so much detail and complexity in the processes, there also had to be a way to review any portion of the course several days - or even months - after taking it for the first time.

In response to the challenge of any trainee’s time constraints, PMT has developed a unique training format using animation combined with narration. Visualize a typical computer presentation with a voice track with four or five movements on a slide. Our courses have dozens of movements on each slide, so that we can focus the trainee’s attention to each specific detail as it is covered in turn.

This is a unique and very powerful presentation medium, a methodology that literally renders conventional classroom training obsolete. We package our presentations on a CD, so that trainees are not tied to a high speed internet connection, with all of the delays inherent in streaming technology with presentations of this magnitude. Our course presentations run real time.

Each course comes with accompanying workbooks, some of which are used to follow along with presentations. And at least half of the course time will be spent solving problems. There are extensive problem sets that accompany and parallel each of our courses providing the trainee ample opportunities to put the material into practical application. These are completed in another set of workbooks, offline. Furthermore, we provide solutions to all problems in the workbooks, plus an animated narrative on the CD - so everything is, in effect, self-graded and self-tested. Thus, complete control of the course and the time investment necessary to complete it are in the hands of the trainee.
